A Journey at it's Beginning.

Although, with all the changes going on at work it may seem that I am beginning a new Journey. I would much rather be beginning on a New Job altogether. Someplace where my art is my job. Yeah - that would be great. There are some projects in the works, if said projects actually take off. I could be very happy working on a Children's Television Show. That is something I could be quite proud of.

I am very proud of this piece.

Cubicle Life

I am an artist. But I don't work as one in real life. This leads to some Melancholy at times. I was not made for the cubicle life. Interestingly enough, as an "outsider" working in this environment I have discovered that there are actually peopel that thrive here. It's so very alien to me that this would be a desirable place for someone to be - but I have found that it takes all kinds - and I am grateful that there are people that truly do belong here. ---You may ask, why are you working in this environment, when it is the polar opposite of who you are? I answer: security. This is how I pay the bills - the money is regular - if somewhat reduced from what I would like to be making. I do my art professionally on the side, but I have not yet come into the client base that would allow total emancipation. In my experience there are a lot of people in this world not working the job that they would like. When I read about men I look up to for the worldly things they have accomplished, I see that they have taken risks that I am not willing to take. I also see lives that are missing out on spiritual things of importance that I would never give up. If I change my focus to other men to which I Admire for their Spiritual Giantism, I see that they have lost their own lives in the lives of others and I desire to be like that.

I am not a depressed person because of the Spiritual aspect of my life. Therin lies true joy. I will however seek to detach myself from the Cubicle. But more importantly, I will seek to improve myself spiritualy. I must lose my life in order to find it.

Disoriented Man Saves the Day. . . . ???

Well, this is an Action hero of sorts. He. . . . well, I don't what kind of move he's making. He looks confused to me. I drew this after not drawing for a while. It's rusty, but I like the crowd around him.

Do the Zombie shuffle.

Another Zombie. A Denizen of the undead. Unthinking, and not Debonair, as the ever popular Count Dracula. Not as confused as the Pieced together Monster of Dr. Frankenstein. But he sure can Shuffle.

I really hate money sometimes.

A while ago I paid for a Class that I couldn't really afford with the understanding that my company would re-imburse. Due to the School changing the way the reciet was printed my initial paperwork was rejected and the Approval was denied. Needless to say I was not happy. Eventually I was able to get the paperwork resubmitted and the Reimbursement was issued. And this little Gem of a Sketch is all that's left of a gut wrenching couple weeks.

Yeah . . . Yeah that's a pretty big sword.

I like it. The Giant's face isn't quite right, but I still like it.

Look into my eye(s).

I don't know. Sometimes things just happen.

What was in my head didn't quite make it to the paper.

A rather scary baby with a blanket.

I have no Clever Comment today.

Just a guy with a sword riding his cat-horse thing through a swamp.

Welcome to October The Scariest Month of the Year

Zombies: The Idea of a Zombie is so Horrific, and yet at the same time so ridiculous, I cant help but be drawn into Zombie Stuff. I mean think about it: The Dead shell of a body, no longer inhabited by the spirit of our Dearly Departed; driven by Mad Science or Dark Magic to Seek out and Devour the living. That's HORRIFIC. But not Possible; so as horrific as it is, it lends itself easily to Comedy. Hence: Shawn of the Dead and the Zombie Survival guide.

I had been playing the game Zombies!!! and chatting with a co-worker about Zombie Movies, and Video Games when I drew this.

This Robot is NOT in Disguise.

I drew a really dumb Robot with a gun for a face and then made it really really big. Transformers came out on DVD yesterday, so this is good timing. Though I've never been real good at Depicting Robots. (They have so much minute detail; And the new ones are so overly detailed, that I found it hard to follow the action in the Movie - I still loved it, but on DVD when i can tell what is happening.....WOW!!!)

A Man and his Shark

You know a guy means business when he has a Tank of this proportion with a Shark in it. Don't mess with Shark Guys.

Still working

I'm still around and still drawing.
This was a pretty quick Sketch I did of a Pirate.

I'm really proud of this one. I find it very satisfying.

Okay - quite some time ago I learned about a little game coming out named Spore. That post is a year old and at that time I had been watching news about the game for a year. Well the game is supposed to be released before Christmas this year (according to it's designer Will Wright); EA says that they took Spore off their Calendar for the Fiscal year because it Could be delayed until Fiscal year 2009.

Anyway, a few months ago I doodled a little creature at work. I was looking at that creature and decided to draw a nicer version and this is what came of it.

This one is more about the place than the Character.

Something mysterious happening in a cave. Not all the black parts are shaded in.

Monday, May 21, 2007

Not that great.

This didn't turn out how I wanted at all.

Friday, May 18, 2007

Well, it was bound to happen.

I just had this Idea for a squish image and I decided to execute it very nicely. I'm particularly happy with the hands. And the lighting effects are fairly nice.

The Theme Continues

Again, I didn't get the perspective forced the way I wanted it to on the figure and the fugure was not quite what I wanted. I found that providing a background made it tolerable, instead of a complete loss.

Melancholy Super Hero

I started drawing this one and completely messed it up. I needed more of an Idea than the one I started with. Mr Perspective Bit me. I didn't get the Angles as extreme as I wanted So I ended up with a Figure I didn't like. I was about to erase and I thought I would try something with the Background first. and I ended up having some fun with the background - It's rough; but I don't absolutely hate it.

Really Big Bee

Drew another woman, then drew a really big bee. LOL!!
It makes no sense, but I think it's fun,

Women are a Rarity in my artistic Repertoire.

Yeah... I don't draw women very much - so I thought I'd give it a go.

After some delay

I have not posted the past few days. I have a new Vista computer and have been fighting with the FTP time out. There are some things I like about Vista, but the things that I don't like are currently out weighing the things I Like.

Thursday, May 3, 2007

I'm not terribly happy with the face.

This one is just okay. I had more fun with the background than with the character.

Wednesday, May 2, 2007

These have all started with no Idea in mind.

Sometimes I wonder if I can draw the same character over and over and have it look the same. This guy ended up with a bust of himself as a result.

I needed a place to just Dump Sketches and Display things I've been working on, and my "Journalish" Blog: Vizion Studios didn't Seem to be the right place for it. And my Squishy blog is just for Squish related matterial.
